THE DEPHY EXPE ECOPHYTO NETWORK : SUMMARY OF THE FIRST RESULTS IN TREE FRUIT PRODUCTION

The national ECOPHYTO plan, aimed at reducing the use of plant protection products in France, includes an experimental section. The first results obtained for the fruit tree industry are very promising, with a significant decrease in treatment frequency indexes (TFI) in relation to a benchmark. The target of a reduction of 50 % or more has been attained for the majority of the fruit species studied. In order to achieve this, levers, that are more or less innovative, linked to efficiency, substitution, or redesigning crop systems, have been implemented. The performance of these new systems however, needs to be assessed further, not only in economic terms, but also social and environmental.
