Press release on November GA meeting

After six months of operation, the EUFRUIT consortium organised its first General Assembly on 9 November 2016 in Leuven, Belgium, gathering the partners of the project and representatives of DG AGRI and EIP-AGRI. After the event, a short report was released towards the wider specified press, indicating the aims and goals of EUFRUIT and specifically focussing on the outcomes of the General Assembly. The press release points out that the project’s main milestone, the Knowledge Platform, was launched. This platform, on which scanning and synthesis reports, produced by different International Expert Groups, and more information about dissemination activities are uploaded, is meant to facilitate access to knowledge between the different research centres within Europe, and between research centres and policy makers, growers, and producers… in other word, the widest possible audience. In the press release, the Coordinator of EUFRUIT, Michelle Williams of Aarhus University, was given the floor to explain the significance of the project in filling a gap in knowledge exchange, as well as Jacques Dasque from AREFLH and Philippe Binard from Freshfel Europe to indicate the importance of cooperation between the research centres and the fruit sector.
