Technical Committe Fruit.Net meeting

Fruit.Net project was set up in 2010 by the Department of Agriculture of the Government of Catalonia (DARP), the Institute for Food and Agricultural Research and
Technology (IRTA), universities and the fruit sector. The main objectives of this project are to reduce the chemicals on fruit orchards by maximising the use of alternative methods and to reach harvest time with a minimum residue content.
Fruit.Net integrates all the efforts and agents, both public and private, in the vegetal protection of the fruit trees (apple, pear, peach and citrus). For this it is organized in a Steering Committee and a Technical Committee representative of the sector for each of the crops. Its development is based on three basic pillars: research actions clearly oriented to control the most problematic pests, diseases and physiopathies; commercial demonstration actions through the control strategy defined by the Technical Committee of the corresponding crop; and, transfer actions to the entire productive sector.
