Abstract
A German fruit producer is confronted with several requirements, which influence his production. A
variety of stakeholders are active on the market that represent their interests. These are determined
by the perspective of the production establishment, the state, the consumer, and the value chain in
the form of food retailing.
Quality assurance systems may be useful when manufacturing fruit compliant with requirements,
however do not cover all needs. To what extent this is fulfilled and what attributes are demonstrated
is examined in the following. Whether the theoretical findings obtained actually stand up to everyday
practice, is being identified by means of an empirical study based on an expert survey. At the same
time, particular advantages and disadvantages of the individual quality assurance systems will be
collected. The results are used for a final evaluation of the systems in view of the stakeholders and
mechanisms of the systems.
