The EUFRUIT Knowledge Platform is part of a European thematic network of 21 partners including research institutes, universities and industrial partners who represent keyparts of the fruit supply chain from 12 countries.
EUFRUIT Knowledge Platform is an international open access database of electronic documents related to productivity, sustainability and quality of fruit in the European fruit sector. New knowledge on fruit research and best practice approaches at a European level are available in the database. It is possible to search for information in a specific language.
Focuses are on four thematic areas of critical importance to competitiveness and innovation potential of the European fruit sector:

Insektennetz im Apfelanbau, Schweizerische Zeitschrift für Obst- und WeinbauPublication in technical journal - Secure sustainable fruit production Chemical synthetic pesticides are needed to produce high quality fruits. However, the use of pesticides is put more and more into question in Switzerland. Therefore, there is a need for alternative measures to protect orchards from pest insects and fungal diseases. One possible solution to reduce the amount of applied insecticides are side nets to exclude pest insects. To… |

Kosten der chemischen und mechanischen Baumstreifenpflege im Vergleich, Früchte & GemüsePublication in other stakeholder journal/magazine - Secure sustainable fruit production Weed control in tree rows is essential in fruit growing. For this purpose used herbicides get more and more under pressure. Especially the use Glyphosate is discussed controversially. Out of this reason Agroscope has evaluated the use of mechanical weed controlling measures instead of herbicides. Different strategies were compared with one another under the aspects of agronomic… |

Nachbaukrankheit im Apfelanbau, Schweizerische Zeitschrift für Obst- und Weinbau – Apple replant diseasePublication in technical journal - Secure sustainable fruit production If a fruit-orchard is re-cultivated with the same kind of crop, growth and fruit yield is reduced, which is known as apple-replant-disease. Most probably soil-borne diseases are the cause of this effect. Effective measures like change of the crop or chemical sterilization of the soil are often not possible or not allowed. In this trial 4 different measures were investigated for… |
